This piece is a reflection on the concept of the “third space”, detailed through an explanation at the beginning, writings on the topic, and interviews conducted, where some people share how they feel on third spaces. This piece is about a loss of community and locations in which one can spend leisure time outside the confines of the home, of school, and of work. It is about the feeling of being trapped and not in control of my own life, of being stuck on a track designed to contribute to capitalism as much as possible, at the cost of community, free time, and connection with other people.

This piece is a reflection on the future of my own home and the natural world around it, and how due to capitalism, the environment will decay and die, while my home stays stagnant and abandoned. This piece is about the feeling of being left behind, abandoned, due to no efforts being put into fixing the environment by the main polluters, how profit is being put above human life, and how so many people, when global warming makes their homes inhabitable, will be left behind, due to not being able to afford to move to locations that haven’t been thoroughly destroyed yet. This piece is about feeling trapped and unable to stop any of this, to contribute at all in any meaningful way. This piece is about despair. It is all over for us.
